About Us

NBS Ireland is an MGA specialising in insurance across over 20 commercial products, available exclusively through brokers. Our core ethos, ‘Making Brokers’ Lives Easy,’ drives every decision we make, ensuring we consistently deliver the service, expertise and support our broker partners need.

Based in Dublin, our team of nine brings extensive underwriting experience across a wide range of sectors. As part of the wider NBS Group, they are supported by experienced insurance professionals in the UK, providing additional expertise and resources when needed.

We work with the Accelerant Risk Exchange, giving us access to capacity, technology, data and insight. Our insurance capacity is provided by Accelerant Insurance Europe and AmTrust International Underwriters, with ARAG providing legal expenses cover across selected products. These strong partnerships support our growing range of insurance products for the Irish market.

Our growth in Ireland has been significant, with GWP now exceeding €20 million. We work with nearly 100 brokerages across Ireland, ranging from well-known national and regional firms to smaller independent brokers. As we continue to grow, we are investing in our products, technology and people while maintaining the personal service and accessibility that are central to the way we work.

Our Community

We believe in giving back. We actively support several local youth teams for football, cricket, and rugby. Each year, we nominate a charity and raise funds.

Our chosen charity for 2026 is Insurance United Against Dementia in partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.

Our History

2016

Our journey in Ireland begins
We wrote our first policy in Ireland, initially trading under the Nationwide Broker Services name.

2019

Partnering with Accelerant
We partnered with Accelerant, securing long-term capacity to support the continued development of our SME and commercial insurance offering.

2021

NBS Ireland established
Following Brexit, NBS Ireland became a separate entity, strengthening our presence and foundations in the Irish market.

2022

Launching PI in Ireland
We expanded our product offering with the launch of PI insurance, providing cover across a wide range of professions.

2024

A new look for NBS Ireland
We launched our new branding, creating a stronger and more consistent identity as we continued to grow in the Irish market.

2025

Expanding our product range
We significantly expanded our offering with the launch of Commercial Combined, Sports, Gyms & Social Clubs, Care Home and Hair & Beauty insurance.

2026

Introducing AI submission technology
We introduced AI-powered submission technology across selected products, helping us process broker submissions more efficiently while retaining underwriter review and expertise.
